A parachute jump or skydive is a great way to raise money and support NCH’s work with some of the most vulnerable children and young people in the UK.
We have three different ways that you can leap in to action for NCH!!
3,000 Feet Static Line Parachute Jump
You'll leap from an aircraft and steer yourself to the centre of the drop zone below using a modern square parachute canopy.
This is a 'static line' jump, which means when you board the plane you'll be securely attached to a static line that will automatically open your parachute as soon as you jump.
You will train for the jump on Saturday and carry it out on Sunday. Training covers all aspects of the jump, including equipment, exiting the aircraft, checking your parachute and controlling your landing.
In case the weather stops you jumping, the training will be valid for at least two months. All students receive a British Parachute Association approved certificate to prove they have attended the course.
The minimum amount that needs to be raised is £360.00
If you raise over £500.00 you'll also receive £100.00 in holiday vouchers!
Skydive from 10,000 feet
You will be to leap out of an aircraft at 10,000 feet and freefall at over 120mph, while harnessed to a professional freefall parachute instructor.
The jump is called a 'tandem' skydive. You'll be harnessed to a professional parachute instructor throughout the descent, and the instructor will be in control of your landing.
It's much less demanding than traditional static line jumps. You'll complete your training and the jump in one day. You will also receive a certificate to prove that you have completed a two-mile-high tandem skydive!
The minimum amount that needs to be raised is £395.00
If you raise over £500.00 you'll also receive £100.00 in holiday vouchers!
Skydive solo from 10,000 feet
This is an opportunity to take part one of a professional 'accelerated freefall' course (AFF Level 1).
After completing a full day's training with two qualified instructors, and if they think you are ready to jump, you'll skydive solo from 10,000 feet.
The instructors will jump and freefall with you to around 5,000 feet, when you pull your parachute canopy. From that point you will steer your parachute on your own down to the drop zone, with guidance all the way from ground control.
Training includes classroom and practical sessions and covers all aspects of making a solo skydive. Once completed, you'll receive an official certificate to prove that you have completed AFF Level 1.
The minimum amount that needs to be raised is £535.00
