WE 11/10/2009
What do you call a day of bright blue skies, light winds and sunshine following 2 days of wind rain and cloud - yeah MONDAY!, ok so the weather wasnt that good but we will all be back there this weekend doing it again (weather permitting - you hearing us up there?) |
WE 26/09/2009
Okay so I have been really lax at updating the news this year - but it is just so busy around here
The Tunnel trip was a fantastic time everyone getting some valuable coaching including, including yours truly, its amazing how lazy you can get with your body position over the years - and it looks like there is now a 4 way team forming out of the staff and regulars so watch this space

WE 13/09/2009
What a weekend!! Tandem Instructors, Static Line (on the saturday) and AFF Instructors saying NO MORE- please!!!.
Its been a blinding few weeks down 'on the farm' more AFF levels and consoles than have ever been seen at LPS ever before, its bee a pain for the SL guys though as the plane we had booked went U/S so we had to hunt and hunt but finally managed to get an Islander for the whole weekend - then the weather is too windy for student jumping on the Sunday, still at least the Saturday arrivals got plenty in!

WE 26/07/2009
What a weekend!! Tandem Instructors and AFF Instructors aying NO MORE- please!!!.
Ok so I admit I have been a bit more than lax in the updates but when it's this busy and you are trying to sweep up??! |

WE 05/07/2009
What a weekend!! Tandems up the ying yang, AFF and some personal milestones.
Corporate groups from Brammer who raised 93K yes that is not a typo NINETY THREE THOUSAND POUNDS! toward Make a Wish Foundation UK and from the MITIE group jumping for Great Ormond Street Hospital - so dont ask me what the total was I cant count that high!
AFF graduations for Juri Puth, Alex Jarman, Isaac Hayes - well done guys!
Jump Numbers
James (Sicknote) Mundy 200
Tracy (widdle T) Curling 300
Mark (Batfink) Stone 1000 and yes they did all buy the beer!
And we even had Beccy Tucker from Radio 1 come and jump - watch it here
On a small note Danny (you know who you are) really does need to pay attention to the winds and instructions from the regular jumpers when they say Don't go downwind of this point, when I find the video his mate is gonna put on you tube you will see why
Sorry for the laxity of updates on here but it's just so busy that the broom is gonna have to be inserted somewhere so I get time to sweep up as well!. |
WE 10/05/2009
Well what a difference the fuel bowser made, even with a reduction in lift ticket prices to £20 we were still short on club jumpers so had an early day both days - oh and ticket prices are staying there.
A big thanks to Tim for the BBQ, as usual a huge pile of meats and his unerring skill cooking it sent us all to bed feeling very fat and content - that was until the horse fly bit Martin, OUCH!.
Another massive fundraising weekend for which we dont have a total yet but definitely in excess of 9K. |
Fuel Bowser
Ok - so after much thought and serious grovelling to the bank manager LPS has bought an electrically operated fuel bowser, what does this mean to you I hear you cry?.
'Simples' answer is that we will be fuelling the plane lighter and this means that we can get more people on it each lift, so there should be 4+ slots on every lift for the experienced guys - and if you're really nice to Martin we may twist his arm to get full experienced loads every 3rd or 4th.
Bowser arrives in 2 weeks time so the May double header will be a kicking weekend |
WE 26/04/2009
Loads of AFF and huge amounts of Tandem but very light on the experienced jumpers - still the above may change that ;0).
Another massive fundraising weekend for which we dont have a total yet but definitely in excess of 15K. |
WE 19/04/2009
Loadsa of AFF and Loadsa full experienced loads (well Ok 3 but they all had fun. AFF is going great guns and we are getting people through - congrats to John Sharland on qualifying.Though it was a little interesting with a coupla the AFF students - 'Treeman' Tony will tell all eventually LOL.
Another massive fundraising weekend for which we dont have a total yet but definitely in excess of 15K. |
WE 05/04/2009
What a difference a year makes to the weather eh? (or have I just scuppererd the rest of 2009), Loadsa of AFF and Loadsa full experienced loads (well Okl 3 but they all had fun. Dorian took some piccies of the last one so hopefully we will have some of them in the gallery by the end of the week.
Another massive fundraising weekend for which we dont have a total yet but definitely in excess of 10K.
So lets all go for it again this weekend! |
WE 29/03/2009
The caravan is awesome - so much so that without the club jumpers we are sending it home mid afternoon as there is nothing left to do!- multiple AFF and 26 tandems on the Sunday -
Charity fundraising for Cystic Fibrosis Trust on the one day was over £13K!, does it get much better than that?, so come on down to the farm and lets play. |
WE 22/03/2009
The caravan was in and we jumped and jumped and jumpedf - multiple AFF and 27 tandems on the Sunday - did seem that most of the club jumpewrs were off doing 'relative work' so it was a quiet time on that front.
Charity fundraising for the one day was over £15K!, does it get much better than that?, congrats to Max Hill on his B license and we look forward to seeing you all this week. |

WE 15/03/2009
Right - so here we go for 2009 and the caravan was in and we jumped our things off - especially in the case of the 2 intrepid young men Dan & James who jumped for comic relief wearing nothing but a smile, sorry guys but after that 120mph wind we couldn't find a red nose small enough to cover your blushes!. As for Harriet & Alex their girlfriends, they were somewhat less than impressed at the results (we didnt think to ask them if there was any difference before and after though). Comic relief was not the only charity represented this week though and a grand total of 7300+ was raised in this one weekend alone!.
It seems everyone likes the 12000ft run ins and the extra freefall time, and the new plane has gone down very well I would say.

2009 Season
Right - so here we go for 2009 and we start the season with the CARAVAN!!!!!!, so everyone can smile and be happy that we will be flying the turbine again. Martin, Rachel and Damian have scrubbed the burger van and the toilets, unfortunately since that happened someone has decided to vandalise them by pulling down a couple of the wall panels - so Martin gets to be a chippy again. The ice cream van has been replaced with a nice Transit Hi Q unit so its all legal again, and Katrina made the most of being out in Empuria and is back jumping again! - so lets have a great 2009 and jump our wotsits off. |
